JBL CHARGE 5
This digital asset project was aimed at creating a commercial product, with full creative freedom.

My thoughts quickly turned to something personal, yet something that many others also have a close connection to, and I turned to music and speakers, something everyone has, our should have, at home.
​
JBL is a global brand, known for its sleek design. So, I decided to create something like that from scratch, and it became Charge 5.

Modeling was quite simple, but the challenge I soon realized was how to get the right speaker material.
I decided to create my own material in Substance Painter, using a PNG image, which you can see in black and white on the right.​
​
I wanted to achieve the woven feel of a nylon-like material.
When finished, I created a home-friendly scene and visualize additional color variations.
With a bit of post processing, I got inspired to turn it into a short visualization film.
